Der 16. begann eigentlich sehr gut. Delfine begleiteten uns in die Lagune, wo wir nach drei N\u00e4chten ankamen und Port Moresby begr\u00fc\u00dfte uns mit lauter Lichtern.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unser Ziel: der Royal Papua Yacht Club. Schon vor dem Hafenbecken wurden wir von zwei marina-guys empfangen und rein gewinkt. Drinnen bedeutete uns der \u00e4ltere von beiden, zu ankern. Mitten im Becken! Na ja, andere L\u00e4nder, andere Sitten, meint Papa und der Anker f\u00e4llt auf f\u00fcnf Metern. Gef\u00fchlte drei Stunden sp\u00e4ter kommt Israel, der Typ vom Club, vorbei und bringt uns einen Haufen Papiere. Wir machen uns daran sie auszuf\u00fcllen, doch um zw\u00f6lf, wo Israel eigentlich schon wieder da sein wollte, ist immer noch nichts passiert.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Papa setzt sich ans Funkger\u00e4t und kurze Zeit sp\u00e4ter sitzt dann auch endlich der Mann vom Zoll bei uns im Cockpit. Die gelbe Flagge h\u00e4ngt aber noch, da die Quarant\u00e4ne-Leute noch nicht da waren. Ob das jetzt an ihrem vollgepackten Terminkalender liegt, oder daran, dass wir uns nicht achtundvierzig Stunden vorher gemeldet hatten, vermag ich nicht zu sagen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nach einem Besuch im Marina B\u00fcro kommen Papa und Leo mit der Nachricht zur\u00fcck, wir k\u00f6nnten uns jetzt an den Arbeitssteg legen, einen kleinen, mit Farbe und was wei\u00df ich nicht was bekleckerten Schwimmponton. Aber ich will mich nicht beklagen, denn von hier hat man es deutlich n\u00e4her zum Club Geb\u00e4ude, als von hinter der kleinen Tankstelle, wo die anderen \u201avisitors\u2018 liegen, wie der erste marina-guy uns erz\u00e4hlte. Das Anlegeman\u00f6ver verl\u00e4uft schnell und einfach. Das erste was wir dann tun, ist nicht duschen. Nein, wir schlie\u00dfen den Schlauch an, und lassen Kalibu einen \u00e4u\u00dferen Gro\u00dfputz zukommen. Erst danach hopsen wir nacheinander unter die Dusche. Denn obwohl der Club in einem Werbeprospekt als \u201asafest place in town!\u2018 angepriesen wird, ist hier alles doppelt und dreifach gesichert und zugeschlossen, und wir haben nur einen Schl\u00fcssel. Bzw. zwei, weil die W\u00e4scherei extra ist, da nur f\u00fcr yachties bestimmt. Am Abend sitzen wir oben auf der Terrasse des Clubgeb\u00e4udes, trinken Saft – MaPa Bier – versuchen aufgrund des langsamen Internets nicht die Geduld zu verlieren und beobachten die vielen Leute um uns herum. Klar, Samstagabend und der Club scheint eine gut genutzte Ausgehm\u00f6glichkeit zu sein. Er brummt wie ein Bienenstock und statt Fu\u00dfball l\u00e4uft auf allen Fernsehern Rugby. Komisch, finde ich, l\u00e4uft doch um 20 Uhr (PNG Zeit) Australien gegen Frankreich und auch wenn Fu\u00dfball mich normalerweise nicht die Bohne interessiert, einmal in vier Jahren setzte ich mich dann doch mit vor den Fernseher. Ist immerhin eine Weltmeisterschaft, oder?<\/p>\n

Zo\u00eb 19.6.2018<\/p>\n

The 16th started actually very pleasantly. Dolphins accompanied us into the lagoon, where we arrived after sailing for three days and Port Moresby welcomed us with lots of lights. Our destination: the Royal Papua Yacht Club. In front of the harbour basin we were received and waved in by two marina guys.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Inside the marina the older man told us to anchor. In the middle of the small basin! Well, different countries, different habits, said Papa and the anchor was dropped at five meters. After, what seemed like ages, Israel, the marina officer arrived and gave us a bunch of papers to fill in, what we certainly did. But at twelve o\u2019clock, Israel is still not back, although he told us he would be. Papa sits down in front of the radio and shortly after we can offer the customs officer a glass of cold water. However the yellow flag is in fact still up this very moment, since the quarantine people did not inspect Kalibu yet. If that\u2019s because their date book is full or because we forgot to get in touch 48 hours before we arrived, I\u2019m still uncertain. After a visit in the marina office, Papa and Leo come back with the message, we can move Kalibu to the working pontoon, a small floating platform, messy with paint and I don\u2019t know what else. But I don\u2019t want to complain, \u2018cause from here it is less far to the club house, then from behind the small fuel station, were the other visitors are moored, as the first marina guy told us. The docking manoeuvre is going well and fast. The first thing we do next is not taking a shower, it\u2019s connecting the hose pipe and washing Kalibu. Only after we finished that we go to the showers. One after the other, as we have only one key and everything in the club is secured and locked twice and threefold, even though the club is advertised as the \u201asafest place in town!\u2018. Or maybe it is the safest place in town because of that.\u00a0 <\/span>In the evening we sit upstairs, on the terrace of the club house and are drinking juice, beer for MaPa, trying not to loose patience waiting for the slow internet and watching many other people around us. Of course, Saturday-night, and the club seems to be a nicely used opportunity to go out. It\u2019s buzzing like a bee-home and all the TV-screens show rugby instead of football\/soccer. And that despite the fact that the world cup started already and Australia is playing today!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
